Dickens day Photos: Ms.Gonder's class!

It's not only our class that's celebrating Dickens day! Ms. Gonder's 11th grade class is learning about Dickens and the Victorian era. She spoke about Scrooge in the Christmas Carol and Victorian entertainment! In her presentation she explained how fashion had a vital role in racism during this time period and she was talking about Sara Baartman and how she was in one of those zoos. People looked at her and judged her because she had a different figure and she didn't have a victorian woman's body. Ms. Gonder went on and explained because of Sara Baartman's figure the crinoline was made. Although Sara Baartman was being judged about her figure she was still made out as a fashion statement.
